Medical Disability Management

Wellington at Work’s Medical Management provides timely coordination and delivery of essential, and frequently scarce, medical and clinical services on behalf of our referrals. Physicians highly skilled in assessing occupational injuries and disabilities perform thorough examinations. Wellington at Work coordinates all aspects of the diagnostic procedures, specialist consultations, and specialized treatment services.

Occupational Health Nurses

The occupational health nurse plays an important role in medical management. The nurse identifies the needs of a worker’s recovery, coordinates and facilitates access to treatment, and assists the worker in understanding the diagnosis and recovery phase. Their role is also to act as an advocate for the worker, ensuring continuity throughout the treatment and recovery process.

Return to Work Management

A sound return to work policy is essential to letting your employees know that you are serious about the impact of illness and injury on them and the workplace. Your return to work policy should reflect your company’s values and the importance you place on retaining your trained and experienced workers. Wellington at Work will provide you with the tools to develop a policy for your company.

Everybody is different! The right plan for one worker will not be the right plan for everyone else. Wellington at Work will help you to bring together all the components of return to work planning so that you can develop a plan for your ill or injured worker as soon as possible. We will teach you to design written plans that combine the needs of your workplace with the needs of your workers. We will teach you how to deal with unforeseen issues and changes in the worker’s abilities.

Vocational Rehabilitation Services

Our vocational services team offers career/employment counseling, vocational assessment and testing, and job search skills and development.

Individuals in this program have access to our job search facilities and job opportunities that have been sourced from various employers by the Wellington at Work team.

Pre-Placement Assessment

Wellington at Work’s Assessment Services provides customized evaluations. This process helps determine the best outcome and treatment for each individual.

Functional Assessment Evaluations

A report on your worker’s functional abilities is now a requirement under WSIB legislation. It is essential for you to know what the worker is physically able to do, so that you can provide suitable work consistent with those abilities. Wellington at Work will teach you how to obtain more useful functional abilities information, how to understand the terms used in functional abilities reports and how to apply the information you are provided to your workplace.
